In all honesty the answer to this question is not a simple one size fits all answer (sorry!).
For many couples food is an important highlight for their wedding day. After all get it right and your guests will be talking about your wedding breakfast for years to come! If you are big foodies then you may already have ideas on the style and type of meal you wish to be served. Or possibly not - either way we would recommend you begin exploring options early to avoid disappointment.
Most wedding caterers will book up on peak summer Saturdays a year and half to a year in advance. If you are open minded to exploring a week day or a Autumn/Winter wedding is more your style then you will find you have a little more time on your side!
We would recommend setting a date with your venue or marquee provider first prior to booking your wedding caterer. Some venues have restrictions on which catering companies they prefer you work with. We suggest checking this first before confirming.
If you need some time to reach your decision on your catering plans don’t be afraid to voice your thoughts to the catering companies you are considering. It’s a big decision to make! Some caterers may have the capacity for you to hold your date to give you plenty of time to decide. We offer the option to tentatively pencil in your wedding date with no obligation to book. We understand planning a wedding requires a lot of work and consideration so we personally want all couples who are interested in working together with us to feel comfortable and not rushed into making a decision.
To summarise don’t hang about and wait too long to find all your preferences are fully booked but don’t be rushed into making decisions either! There are many talented caterers out there - it’s important you find the right fit for your big day!
Good luck and most importantly enjoy the process!
