That time of year is upon us… wedding catering taster season! A highlight in the wedding planning itinerary when your ideas come to life and you get to trial them first-hand in person for the very first time. How exciting!
We have created 5 tips on how best to prepare for your taster with Fossil Food Catering to ensure you get the most out of your time with us.
The word 'taster' is very misleading! We love to host, and that begins from your taster right through to the very end of your celebrations when the last piece of cutlery is packed away at the end of the night into the wee hours.
Our taster session menus are created in full so you can truly experience the bespoke dish we have created for you; to allow you to see the scale of portion size, presentation, and flavours – so you can be fully informed to offer feedback if required. With this in mind, we recommend skipping breakfast!
Please do not be afraid to offer constructive feedback if there are any tweaks or changes you would like to make. It is super important that your menu is perfect for your tastes, so please do share! That being said, do not feel pressured into giving feedback. If you love things as they are, that’s also fab! Don’t feel the need to go looking for things if your gut response is that you love it.
We will be guiding you through the planning in a relaxed environment, asking thought-provoking questions along the way. Kirsty will be taking detailed notes and will follow up with a recap catering spec for you both to approve, to ensure we have understood your plans correctly post-taster. Our goal is to create a vibe that feels like you are making plans while friends are hosting you for lunch. So please come, enjoy and make yourselves at home!
Your taster is the perfect time to get stuck into planning! If you have any questions or points you’re not sure about, please do bring these along. We find many couples find it useful to create questions on their phone notes page to avoid forgetting everything.
Having planned our own destination wedding this June, we can fully relate first-hand to the many spinning plates involved. Please do pick our brains over anything you feel we can help
Choosing your suppliers for your wedding requires a huge level of trust! We understand this can be scary but it is super important for a constructive working relationship. The wedding industry is built on many many small businesses; all of whom love what they do and love making people happy! Those who don’t, sadly, do not survive long, as it’s way too hard to get by without a deep love. Trust them and watch the magic unfold! :)
